Yes, we offer direct billing to most major insurance providers whenever possible. Please bring your insurance card and any necessary policy information to your appointment.

We work with many common insurance companies, including but not limited to: Sun Life, Manulife, Blue Cross, Canada Life, Green Shield, and Desjardins. Direct billing eligibility may vary depending on your individual plan.

If your plan does not support direct billing, you will need to pay for the service upfront. We will provide a detailed receipt you can use to submit a claim to your insurer for reimbursement.

If your insurance only covers a portion of the service, you will be responsible for paying the remaining balance at the time of your visit.

We do our best to check coverage ahead of time, but ultimately it is your responsibility to know the details of your plan. We encourage you to contact your insurer directly for full coverage information.

Direct billing is available for most services, but it may depend on your provider and the type of treatment. Please confirm with your insurance provider beforehand.

If your claim is declined, we will let you know immediately. In that case, you will need to pay for the service and submit a claim to your insurance company on your own.

An initial assessment is for all first-time patients at Donwood Foot and Orthotic Clinic. During your initial appointment, we take the time to understand your health concerns and goals. This typically includes: a review of your medical history and any relevant paperwork; a discussion of your current symptoms or reasons for the visit; a physical examination or assessment, if necessary; an explanation of findings and recommended treatment options; and an opportunity to ask questions. Treatment is also included during the initial appointment.

Booking an appointment is easy — choose the method that works for you. Online: use the online booking system on our website to choose your preferred date, time, and provider (new patients should book an initial assessment). By phone: call us during clinic hours at (416) 445-1414 and our staff will assist you with scheduling. In person: you are welcome to stop by the clinic and book your next visit at the front desk. New patients may be asked to fill out a brief intake form, which can often be completed online ahead of time or when you arrive.

No, you do not need a medical referral to book an appointment with a chiropodist. Chiropodists are primary health care providers, which means you can book directly with us for any foot or lower limb concerns.
